“Vanessa Molina is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who helps women, men, and couples strengthen their relationships — with others and with themselves. As the founder of New Dawn Healing & Wellness, she shares practical, evidence-based tools that support emotional growth, self-awareness, and healthier connections in everyday life.”
I come from an immigrant family and did not grow up in a traditional nuclear household. My parents separated early on, and my childhood involved a lot of moving, changing schools, and living with a sense of instability that I didn’t have language for at the time. I learned quickly how to adapt, read the room, and stay strong — but I also learned how easy it is to disconnect from yourself when life feels unpredictable.
Those early experiences shaped how I understand relationships today — both with others and with ourselves. As I grew older, I began to recognize patterns around anxiety, attachment, people-pleasing, and self-criticism that weren’t personal flaws, but survival responses. That insight is what eventually led me into the mental health field and into working deeply with women, men, and couples who feel stuck in similar cycles.
People should listen because this conversation blends real life with real tools. I don’t just talk about relationships from a clinical lens — I talk about them from lived experience, cultural context, and practical application. This episode offers honest insight, evidence-based strategies, and encouragement for anyone looking to build healthier, more grounded relationships — starting with themselves.
Vanessa went skydiving at 17, taught English in the slums of India for 3 weeks in 2019, and will readily admit that chocolate is her guilty pleasure. She’s someone who jumps in — literally and figuratively.
