“Cameron Lee Cowan is an external messaging director, marketing trends navigator, author, and observer of culture. He has a history in music, fashion, and theater.”
Cameron Lee Cowan M.A. MFA is originally from Denver via Northwest Arkansas. He started writing essays and short stories in 2005, bringing a vintage flair to much of his work. His journey through music, fashion, theater, and writing has provided the rich background that infuses his storytelling with depth, texture, and a keen observer’s eye.
Cameron started in politics when he was young and ran his first politics magazine at 21 while in graduate school. Policy, philosophy, and how those things interact has been a central theme of his work ever since. His job, as he sees it, is to be a student of people — whether writing about the world at The Cameron Journal or working on his next non-fiction book, he provides the research, insights, and context that audiences crave.
Today Cameron serves as Creative Director of The Cameron Journal and VP of Brand and Creative at SOOPMedia. In everything he creates, he tries to make an observation and leave the reader to decide for themselves how they think or feel about it — telling everyday stories while trying to leave his audience with something profound.
“I was a musician!” Cameron’s history in music is just one thread of a rich creative tapestry — alongside fashion, theater, and 20+ years of writing that spans politics, culture, and storytelling.
