Aaron Batts is an author, educator, and advocate whose life’s work is rooted in service, resilience, and purpose. With over 12 years of experience in education and 15 years of coaching basketball, he has spent his career mentoring young people both inside and outside the classroom. His journey has given him a front-row view of the challenges many students face — especially those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) — and has fueled his passion for making sure every child is seen, heard, and given a fair opportunity to succeed.
As the author of Thrive Beyond Labels, Aaron uses his voice to challenge the stigma often placed on students with learning differences, particularly Black and Brown children. His work is not just about awareness — it’s about action. Through real-life experiences, practical strategies, and powerful storytelling, he equips educators, parents, and communities with the tools needed to push for true inclusion and equity in schools. He also leads advocacy efforts through his nonprofit, supporting families as they navigate the IEP process and fight for their children’s rights.
People should listen to Aaron because he brings authenticity, lived experience, and solutions to conversations that are often overlooked or misunderstood. He doesn’t just speak from theory — he speaks from years of being in the trenches, building relationships, and driving change. Whether he’s talking about education, mentorship, or overcoming barriers, Aaron delivers insight that is both impactful and actionable, leaving audiences inspired and empowered to make a difference.
Before becoming an educator and advocate, Aaron was a former semi-professional basketball player — and he spent 15 years coaching the sport, mentoring young athletes both on and off the court.
